Our engravers have been commissioned by kings, princes and celebrities alike. They have over seventy-five years total experience in the gun engraving field. Our local engraver, Charles Lee, was born in England and joined the world renowned firm of James Purdey & Sons, London, in 1980. He apprenticed there for five years, after which he became a freelance engraver and continued to work for Purdey’s for many years. Mr. Lee has engraved guns for several members of the British Royal family as well as other royal households in Europe and the Middle East. He has performed commissions for many of the most respected names in the British gun trade: Holland & Holland, Churchill, McKay Brown, Watson Bros. and Greener. Since moving to California he has engraved double rifles and shotguns for John Rigby & Co., Paso Robles, California. Charles Lee is highly adept at large open scroll as well as game scenes, but his specialty is fine Purdey scroll.

Our other engraver, Ron Collings, also a transplanted Englishman, is equally respected in the trade. At sixteen he began a six year apprenticeship at Webley & Scott in Birmingham. He subsequently performed engraving work for James Purdey & Sons, Holland & Holland, and William Powell. His talents and commissions are diverse; he has engraved guns for members of the current British royal family as well as guns used in the American film industry.
